It’s mellow smoke flavor goes well with the malty flavor of this grain grist. If you’re looking for a good winter warmer that is distinctive, this is a winner.

Malt
  1. 1.00 lb Cara-Pils/Dextrine (2.0 SRM)
  2. 0.75 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 40L (40.0 SRM)
  3. 0.75 lb Chocolate Malt (250.0 SRM)
  4. 5.00 lb Smoked Malt (9.0 SRM
  5. 3.00 lb Munich Malt - 10L (10.0 SRM)
Hops
  1. 0.50 oz Northern Brewer [8.50%] (60 min)
  2. 0.75 oz Williamette [5.20%] (60 min)
Yeast
  1. Safale-04

Steps
  1. Mash/Grains: Mash at 157 for 45 minutes.
  2. Boil: Bring wort to a boil for 75 minutes
  3. Boil: At 60 minutes add 0.50 oz Northern Brewer hops AND 0.75 oz Williamette hops
  4. Fermentation: Primary ferment for 10 days @ 67F
  5. Fermentation: Secondary ferment for 5 days @ 67F
